PUSHKAR

Pushkar is a tiny pilgrimage village about 3 hour drive from Jaipur (ie driving at 40 km per hour)
The story is that Brahma dropped a lotus flower and Pushkar appeared.
Famous for having one of the only temples in the world dedicated to Brahma
Pushkar surrounds a beautiful lake with hundreds of Hindu temples and about 52 Ghats
There is one main road in this village - no cars or rickshas allowed.
No Alcohol No Drugs No Non vegetarian food

Fresh lime and mint juice - so refreshing

Red and white rose plantations - Pushkar is famous for it's  rose oil.

Gypsies playing their music

Pushkar is well known for it's camel fair in November, which takes place on these grounds.
200,000 people meet, bringing close to 50,000 camels
On our camel walk we saw a Jain devotee feeding the ants - that's  a first!

I love the way nature is used all over India, this hotel was just draped with creepers on all levels and just filled with beautiful flowering plants round every corner.
